Exhibit of Contemporary Swiss Quilters
New England Quilt Museum
Lowell, MA
The New England Quilt Museum is hosting a new exhibit of contemporary
quilters, called “Fabric Connection.” The seven Swiss quilt artists
came together out of a passion for quilting, having long seen and
admired each other's work at exhibitions. Each has her own distinct
style and developed her own innovative techniques. Together, Maryline
Collioud-Robert, Beatrice Lanter, Elizabeth Portmann, Ursula Kern,
Ursula Koenig, Katherina Della Chiesa, and Sylvia Einstein have created
an exhibit that will delight and inspire. In addition to the exhibition
of their works, two of the artists will share their techniques.
On February 7, Sylvia Einstein will give a day-long workshop on her
innovative technique for creating Pieced Spirals, and on April 18,
Ursula Kern will give a lecture on "Color in Design: Between Playing
and Hard Work." For more information, please visit the Museum's website.

As part of our continuing service to the community, we are making quilted
placemats for the Meals on Wheels clients for Spring. The deadline for their
completion is the April 15 meeting. The mats can be any style, of simple
design, and even of just one fabric. Spring, Americana , or any fun fabrics
can be used. If each member made one we would have plenty.
Thanks for your time and talent to show a part of the Community that the
Enfield Quilters thinks of them. Our Christmas-themed mats were a BIG HIT!
Please contact Cyndi Ostrout if you have any questions!
A reminder that the Brown Bag Challenge is due in May,
and don't forget the Triple Block Challenge due in June.
I'm but a Quilter,
A user of needle and thread;
I create designs of color,
To lay upon your bed.
I know of strips and borders,
Of angles, points, and stars;
Although I make no money,
It keeps me out of bars!
I spend my husband's money,
On fabric and supplies;
He once thought it was funny,
But now he only cries.
My stash it just keeps growing,
All the colors I must own;
My credit card I'm owing,
I think I need a loan!
My quilts and table runners,
Wall hangings and the rest;
Are stored in all the closets,
So they always look their best.
I bring them out for show and tell,
Then put them back just so;
I would like to keep this going,
But shopping I must go!
For I'm just a quilter,
And hooked I will always be;
As I just live for fabric,
And fabric lives for me!

Hi all!
I just flew in last night, from a great vacation, a month
in Florida!! It is quite a shock to return to the cold and snow
though. I was able to go to a few different quilt shops, and a
shop hop one Saturday in Deland!! I also was able to take an all
day, fabric making doll class. It is still in Florida and not
finished, but will bring it to show and tell when it is!!
A/C Moore closed during the year, but we did get to the Super
Joanne’s and Michael’s ( with coupons in hand!! ) several times!!
I also ate my way through the month!!
