The Next Meeting

It's September!?! Where did the summer go?

Welcome, everyone, to the 2006-2007 season of the Enfield Quilters!

Our first gathering of the season will be September 20th with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. and the meeting starting at 7:00 p.m. We will continue to meet at H.B. Stowe Elementary School (in the cafeteria) on Post Office Road.

To start our evening we will be handing out membership folders, have a brief business meeting and of course Show and Tell ( I can't wait to see what everyone has made this summer! ). After, we will have time to sign up for Raffle, Refreshments, Secret Pal, Fabric Swap, Block of the Month, Shoe Boxes, etc. We have a lot of exciting programs and surprises planned for this year thanks to the dedication and hard work of the Executive Committee Members! Thank You. . .Thank You. . .Thank You!

I can't wait to see everyone on September 20th!

HELP WANTED:

As a goodwill gesture from the guild to H.B. Stowe, and to help them raise money for a new playground, I would like to make them a twin size quilt for the PTO to raffle off in the spring.

If you have any scraps of fun kids fabric, bright fabrics for sashing, borders, binding and backing, or batting you would like to donate, all would be greatly appreciated.

The pattern I am planning to use is "Children's Delight" from the book
"Quilts from the Quiltmaker's Gift".

Sept 30: Quilt Pink Day

Heritage Quilters of Wallingford will be hosting an Annual Gathering on Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Sheehan High School in Wallingford. The speakers for the meeting are Jude Patoka and Anita Shackelford, with workshops on Friday and Sunday. More information regarding the directions, workshops, etc. will be in the next issue of Basting Lines. Please watch for details.

Basic Standard Pillowcase Instructions

Materials
3/4 yard primary fabric (1-1/4 yd. if directional)
1/4 yd. border fabric
1/8 yd. accent fabric

Finished measurement for standard pillowcase is approximately 20" x 30". (Allowances must be made for other sizes.)
