Don't you just love quilt history and women's history!

The Connecticut Quilt Search Project is sponsoring the 2006 American Quilt Study Group's annual seminar at the Farmington Marriott on October 5 to 9, 2006. The event will feature eight study centers, seven paper presentations, and five tours of museum quilt collections throughout Connecticut. Also, included in the weekend's activities will be sales of quilt history books, vendors with antique quilts, a silent auction, and live auctions with contributions from the quilt history world.

The American Quilt Study Group establishes, sustains, and promotes the highest standards for quilt-related studies. This non-profit quilt research organization has over 1,000 members in the U.S. and abroad. Members of the American Quilt Study Group participate in the effort to preserve quilt heritage through our various publications, extensive research library, yearly seminar and membership contacts. Membership is comprised of traditional and contemporary quilt artists, quilt lovers, historians, researchers, collectors, dealers, folklorists, authors, museum curators, quilt appraisers, and students of women's studies.

This seminar is being sponsored by the Connecticut Quilt Search Project for the quilters of Connecticut to say thank you for your years of support in documenting the quilts of our state, and publishing "Quilts and Quiltmakers Covering Connecticut," the history of our state's quilts and their makers.

If you are interested in attending this Seminar or you would like to take a more active role in participating as a volunteer, please call or email Sue Reich, at 860.868.0028 or suereich@charter.net
