Jean Hoagland has had some wonderful sessions!!
We will also be having a short board meeting during the workshop.
Announcements
Thanks to all who have donated a quilt top or whole quilt for our project for Safe Homes of Enfield.
For those who would like to participate, the quilt tops are due at our January meeting.
I have lots of backing fabric from donations and my own purchase at the "markdown" shelf, as well as batting from the Fairfield Company.
I will be putting together packs that include a quilt top, some backing fabric and batting.
I will be handing these out at the January and February meetings to anyone who is willing to pin the layers together.
Several members have volunteered for this task, but I think I will need a few more.
We will also be doing a few during workshop nights January and February.
At our regular meeting in March, we will do the stitching, turning, hand sewing the opening, and tying.
So we are "full steam ahead" on all the details of making LOTS of cozy quilts for the children from abused and neglected home situations.
Thanks again for all the work, and donations of time and fabric!

Book Review
From the Quitters Newsletter Magazine, Jan/Feb. 2005 issue. "Helen Kelley's Joy of Quilting, by Helen Kelly, Voyageur Press, 2004, 224 pp. $16.95 (hardcover).
Many QNM readers tell us that Helen Kelly's column is the first thing they turn to when each issue arrives.
Join Helen as she weathers plumbing disasters, quilting mishaps, home remodeling, and whatever else life has to offer with wisdom and humor.
Helen lives and learns, and she sees quilting as a metaphor for life's challenges or as a way to smooth the journey.
This second collection of columns from past issues of QNM makes a nice gift for a friend or yourself. Irene Berry."
Tips and Hints
Check the corners of your acrylic rulers occasionally.
If you see that they are beginning to get worn and rounded, replace them.
This will keep your blocks nice and square.
Ask for a clean pizza box when you order pizza. They are great for storing blocks and come in assorted sizes.
It's always better to buy a little more fabric than you think you need!
Some manufactures place dots in their fabric selvedges with the colors used, this makes it easier to choose other colors to co-ordinate.
Thou shalt measure twice, cut once.
A flannel backed tablecloth works well as a portable design wall.
